I was looking for some of my wedding photos from Healds Hall when I discovered one of my images had been used by Google to identify Healds Hall, so I thought it was about time I put some of those images together on my blog. I also found that someone had cropped off my logo/web-address on one of my photos of the Irish Ceilidh at this wedding and posted it on Pinterest without crediting Reel Life Photos as the source , which is totally unfair. It took ages searching all my files to find them, but its worth it as they show the lovely mood that a family wedding there can have, particularly if children are also present.
Hope you’ve enjoyed looking as these pics as much as I did shooting them! Sara & Dan chose to get married in the lovely chapel at the National Trust-owned Nostell Priory, the bride having got ready at her parent’s home nearby. The following pages tell the story of their wedding day, using just the photos they themselves chose, though with all the unused shots they could easily have created a second album, that showed more of the reportage-/documentary type images.

Weddings at Waterton Park Hotel are always very special due to the wonderful location on a private island on the lake
The trees are still fresh, as if Spring has only just unfurled, as the light catches the water while the fisherman cast their lines and the Geese go about their day….
Kirsty and Paul chose Waterton Park Hotel for their 15 May 2011 wedding day, which started bright and early with all the little ones in the large en-suite room in the new part of the building. This room has changed quite a bit since our first ever wedding here in June 2002 for Lisa & Paul. Gone is the four poster bed, replaced by normal beds… but the charming mirror is still there, just moved to a better light for makeup by the window.
Loads more pics still to come from this wedding, when I get a moment!! You can see them all online anyway under All Day Wedding Pictures on our site. See below…

Just finished designing this album of a traditional wedding in West Yorkshire. This is the provisional overall layout , so once its been confirmed by the bride and groom, I’ll probably add the individual pages….

Its more than three years since I was last at Huddersfield Register Office doing wedding photography – and even then it was my own daughter’s wedding! Was back there today though for Carole and Mark, who had a simple ceremony followed by a few pictures outside the Register Office, as they were keen to get to the restaurant for their family meal. We usually join our newly-weds at the wedding reception, but Carole was happy to keep it as a very simple family affair, which suited me too, as am flying out to Cyprus in a few hours to cover a really exciting wedding there. I can’t let on yet what is going to be happening but suffice to say its going to be a very different wedding with a surprise reception afterwards.
Michelle & Keiron’s wedding was very different from the normal mixture of posed family groups and reportage pictures that make up most weddings. Starting at the bride’s house full of mirrors and black and white with red walls in the boudoir, I knew we were in for a fun day. Michelle and I had never met in person till that moment – but had got to know each other through lively descriptions of her family life by email, the first of which arrived when I was in Egypt back in February this year.
Michelle’s highly confident and fun little boys are the light of her life … They even gave her away and during the wedding reception did a double act delivering the funniest wedding speeches ever!
Michelle had a burlesque hen night so was not shy of showing off her lovely figure and flamboyant but practical wedding boots.
The vicar – Father Paul – at Mill Hill Unitarian Chapel in Leeds is no stranger to the media, as used to work for the BBC, so he was happy for the Jorge and me to move around during the service to get a good variety of shot. The whole emphasis being on making the bride and groom’s day. They even sat round chatting and drinking champagne in church with the guests after the ceremony!
Michelle couldn’t wait to get outside and play with the kids by the water fountains
