The lovely vintage décor is part of the bride’s late grandmother’s collection of beautiful things; lace, delicate jugs and artily ornate flower vases, with simple home grown flowers, creating a personalised finish to a standard marquee, elevating this wedding to a classy level without being pretentious or over the top.
Now if you are planning a wedding abroad, and thought you couldn’t afford to hire a professional wedding photographer to capture all your wonderful images, think again, as people come before everything so give me a call! We never know when our next wedding abroad will be, but currently its looking like one in Mexico followed by another in The Gambia, West Africa

Only had this phone a week, but as a wedding photographer , thought I’d test out the claims on how good the camera is in low light, instead of using my “proper” camera! The images have been edited to bring out maximum effect, but although I won’t be taking wedding photos with it, the HTC One X certainly has excellent capabilities to be uses as an ideas notebook for artists, as a sketch/ aide memoire for creating say an oil painting. They were all taken during a walk home from town using just the available light from street lamps, and with the auto flash disabled. Its a HUGE advance on previous HTC models, as no other camera phone that I have ever used gets anywhere near this quality in such low light conditions!
See what you think!
Quite magical in fact! xx Elaine See more creative photography on www.LeedsWeddingPhotographers.com
Zoe and Steve actually got married on 28 December 2010 at the Ice Hotel in Sweden, so this was their UK church wedding blessing for the benefit of all the relatives and friends. Elaine, their wedding photographer, also photographed their wedding in the Ice chapel at Jukkasjärvi. You can see some of those pictures here:

Such attention to detail. Even the chocolates have the same design – specially selected by Zoe and Steve. They were also amongst the delights served at their small family wedding reception in the Ice Hotel restaurant following their wedding there. See some of their Ice Hotel wedding pics here.

Carolina and Theo got married out of doors – under a huge tree in the Botanical gardens in Sydney. That was magical enough, but it was their wedding reception on a boat with the ever-changing views as it gently cruised the waters near Sydney, and the luscious array of seafood that made this a society wedding to remember. However, I have to say that the mainly Portuguese and Greek guests were all absolutely lovely, as were of course the bride and groom! Nothing snobbish about this elegant wedding at all…
This boat looks like a playground for the rich and famous, so it was a once in a lifetime experience to be photographing a wedding there, so far away from Reel Life Photos home base in the UK. Just wait till you see inside!

We won a Silver award for the black and white version of this photo with the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) for the month of July 2010
This is a relatively new wedding venue. It has a contemporary feel to the styling with plenty of interesting reflective surfaces to make wedding photography indoors that little bit more exciting. The main reception is held upstairs which rather discourages anyone from wandering around outside, which is a pity. There is a balcony with plenty of seating so smokers tend to congregate there in a sociable manner.
The sofa on the balcony with the neutral blue-ish background makes for a comfortable alternative to standing up like a bus queue for family wedding portraits!
wedding guests get a ringside seat in comfort viewing the proceedings from the balcony
Downstairs by the infinity pool, these surreal plastic armchairs that look as if they should be soft, add another dimension to outdoor wedding photography.

We are also on
This is a recent winter wedding, as chosen by the bride and groom from hundreds of possible images.
We always take plenty of casual, non-posed pictures, documenting the full day, so the couple are free to make up their own album according to their personalities. The very same original images could just as easily be made up into a fun wedding storybook with all the kids running riot and the happy exchanges between wedding guests, or a more relaxed, classical view of their day. The couple are consulted at every stage of the image selection – usually spending around 3 hours with us going through their choices and if they decide to go for a designed storybook album – as this couple did – they are free to get involved in the final layout, as its their personal wedding album, not just an exercise in arty design.
Emotions, expressions and important relationships between families are usually the key reason for their preferred images being included in the album – some choosing mainly of themselves and other showing the full story of their day. In this storybook they even included the pictures about the fire alarm that sounded – just as the bride was about to change into her wedding dress in the morning – and the firemen visiting their hotel in Leeds while everyone piled outside on the opposite pavement, to wait for the all-clear!
Below is a selection of pages from Hayley & Chris’s wedding album…
