Then big group shot is usually one of the hardest to get as everyone wants to wander off and take their own pictures. I try to take this as quickly as poss after any confetti or parents shots and clown around a bit on a wall or other vantage point to get everyone smiling… I take it as one shot, then often crop the top half off so it shows all the faces at a larger size over a double-page spread.
This is the image the bride and groom chose for their album cover. I would have liked the one below best, but its always the couple’s choice as it is their album first and foremost, not a just piece of personal art and design for me! The red line is not part of the design, but denotes the safe area as the Graphistudio usually needs to crop part of the pages to ensure correct edge to edge printing.
So I used this image at the end of the book instead – if you scroll down to the last double page spread you will see how it ended up…
Here the bride and groom’s black cat is all dressed up for the occasion on background of red bridesmaid’s bouquets, further decorated with the bottle opened to celebrate the occasion with the bride’s Dad and bridesmaids.
The bride looks into the mirror, getting the first glimpse of herself on her wedding day while trying on the veil.
Such funny speeches – all day wedding photography comes as standard as we love sharing your day!

Martin & Leanne have chosen lots of posed family pictures from a selection of the literally hundreds of reportages shots taken on their wedding day. We don’t mind which pictures the couples choose so long as we have covered everything to give them those choices – sometimes even choices they didn’t ever imagine in advance – but in this case Martin & Leanne had it all planned out!

wedding storybook cover as chosen by the bride and Groom at Waterton Park Hotel
Anne Marie & Graham got married last year in Scotland on a sunny snow-covered Winter’s day in Perth. After moving house and settling in they have just ordered their storybook wedding album.

This is a recent winter wedding, as chosen by the bride and groom from hundreds of possible images.
We always take plenty of casual, non-posed pictures, documenting the full day, so the couple are free to make up their own album according to their personalities. The very same original images could just as easily be made up into a fun wedding storybook with all the kids running riot and the happy exchanges between wedding guests, or a more relaxed, classical view of their day. The couple are consulted at every stage of the image selection – usually spending around 3 hours with us going through their choices and if they decide to go for a designed storybook album – as this couple did – they are free to get involved in the final layout, as its their personal wedding album, not just an exercise in arty design.
Emotions, expressions and important relationships between families are usually the key reason for their preferred images being included in the album – some choosing mainly of themselves and other showing the full story of their day. In this storybook they even included the pictures about the fire alarm that sounded – just as the bride was about to change into her wedding dress in the morning – and the firemen visiting their hotel in Leeds while everyone piled outside on the opposite pavement, to wait for the all-clear!
Below is a selection of pages from Hayley & Chris’s wedding album…
Angela & Simon’s wedding was on 07/07/07 a magical date last year that makes it extra special. This is the cover – all stretched out. The following pages should be in order but I may have added one or two in the wrong place here, but they are correct in the book itself.
It takes about 6 weeks to print a design like this with Graphi Studio (several weeks usually for me to design it unfortunately), or just 2 weeks for a simpler, hard-backed book on high gloss paper. The designs could be laid out however it suits you, and your personality (See our online complete Graphi Studio sample I designed from a wedding at Auchen Castle in Dumfries, Scotland). Angela is a very organised person so when designing this book I tried to match the style to her personality. The choice of images included here is always the Bride and Groom’s personal preferences, as its not based on art alone but on feelings and emotions, so you can include mainly pics of yourselves, or if you have a preference for favourite family photos then those are the images that we use in the design.
